The Waterworks Museum

The Waterworks Museum at Hereford is quite unique, telling the story of water as the lifeblood of the city. It has the widest range of pumping engines working on one site in Britain - on show is everything from the beam engines of the Industrial Revolution up to the most modern submersible pumps. The Museum hosts the oldest triple-expansion steam engine working in Britain. The main building is a splendid example of Victorian architecture and, for those less excited by mechanics, the site is located next to the River Wye and has lovely views!
